The Dartmoor folklore and history abounds with characters, some are utterly evil, others comical and a few quite famous. The human variety have lived, died and remained in the memories of moorfolk down through the centuries. The unearthly sort probably have never died but live and lurk on the lonely wastes of Dartmoor, stalking the human world in a state of eternal damnation, constantly seeking the souls and sometimes the flesh of lonely travellers. You will also meet some folks who live in the depths of ones imagination and have by the telling broken free into the human world. Some of the characters are of a purely fictional nature and now appear in novels of our time. None the less they have now lent their personalities and adventures to the Dartmoor traditions. So delve into the memories and horrors of the people of Dartmoor, laugh with them, cry with them but be wary of some of them.
